Kičevo monastery, formerly called Krninski monastery, was founded before the middle of the 16th century and in the 1570s a stone church was built on the site of the present church. In 1843, the monastery was burnt down by Albanians from Debar, but the church remained standing. The church was demolished by order of Hegumen Hadji Teodosius to build a new church and other monastery facilities. The icons of the present church were made between 1848 and 1880, many of them were created by the painter Ditscho Zograf.

The site of the Kilclispeen Monastery dates back to the 5th-7th century. The monastery may have been founded by an unknown man, St Crispen. Nothing remains of this monastery, except for two high crosses from the 8th century, the "North Cross" and the "South Cross". Standing in the cemetery, the two crosses are 4 metres high, are made of sandstone and represent biblical scenes. There is also the base of a third cross on this monastic site.

Kladruby Monastery is a former Benedictine monastery founded in 1115 by the Czech prince Vladislav I, in 1421 it was destroyed by the Hussites, it was restored in its entirety in the 18th century and then abolished in 1785 during the Josephine reforms. Jan Santini Aichel (1677-1723), the architect of the 18th-century restoration, created here one of the masterpieces of his characteristic Baroque-Gothic style.

Klisura Monastery, formerly known as Dobrača, is an active women's monastery dating back to the Middle Ages. The monastery church, dedicated to the holy archangels Michael and Gabriel, was built at the end of the 13th century in the style of Raška, as was the neighbouring church of St. Achilles in present-day Arilje. The monastery church was renovated in 1798 and 1815-16.

The neat white of the Klisurski Monastery stands out today amidst the greenery of the valley of the Vreshtitsa River. The Klisurski Monastery was founded in 1240 during the Second Bulgarian Empire. Nevertheless, the buildings that stand today were built in the 19th century, as the monastery was destroyed several times in the course of its history by the Ottomans. It is the fourth largest monastery in Bulgaria and it offers visitors the possibility of staying overnight on its premises.

Konjic Monastery is a Franciscan monastery built in stages between 1895 and 1919. year, according to a design by the architect Josip Vancaš. During the many years of construction, there was a partial deviation from the project. The building of the present monastery dates mainly from 1939-40, but the friars did not live there for the next ten years. In 1970 it was declared a monastery. During the war of 1992-95, the church and the monastery building suffered extensive damage. After 1995 they were renovated again.
