In the district of Holz. Neo-Romanesque church without tower. Front facade 1978. Beautiful modern stained glass windows. In the Second World War the church was badly damaged by war violence. The church was restored in 1946.

The oldest church in Buchten dates from the 13th century and was built in Romanesque style. The parish itself was much older. This church fell into such disrepair at the end of the 18th and beginning of the 19th century that replacement was deemed necessary. In several phases between 1833 and 1837, a new brick church was built in neoclassical style to a design by architect/contractor Beugels from Oirsbeek. The 13th-century Romanesque tower was preserved.

In 1955, architect Jos. Franssen was appointed and was given the task of designing a new church. This had to be done while retaining the old tower. That plan did not go ahead. For the time being, the tower remained in all plans, so that in 1960 it was restored for 2,180 guilders. Eventually, a new location north of the existing church was chosen. Franssen's partner Van der Pluym then came up with a completely new church. Construction began in 1963. It was put into use in 1964, although the work was not yet finished. For example, the bells and the organ still had to be moved from the old church and the church square still had to be arranged, including by demolishing the old church. The church was consecrated in 1965.

The Roman Catholic St. Catherine's Church was built in 1907 to a design by the architects Joseph Cuypers (1861 - 1949) and Jan Stuyt (1868 - 1934). The applied architectural style is traditionalist. On the apse side, the church is connected to the rectory via the sacristy. This dates from after 1945. This rectory is excluded from protection.

R.-K. church H. Catharina, because of the single manual organ. Made in 1820 by Wander Beekes for the R.-K. church in the Herenstraat (H. Willibrordus) in Utrecht. In 1828 moved to Harderwijk. The organ case also dates from that year. In 1986 restored by the firm Leeflang Orgelbouw in Apeldoorn.

Interesting late neo-Gothic church with older tower. Replaced church from 1898 designed by A. Tepe, whose tower was retained. The Roman Catholic St. Catherine's Church is a three-aisled pseudo-basilica church with a narrower, five-sided closed choir and an eccentrically placed tower of three sections with an octagonal spire. The neo-Gothic church was built in 1929 to a design by Clemens Hardeman, using the tower of the predecessor from 1898, designed by Alfred Tepe.

The church is a good example of PJ van Genk's style. Single-nave neo-Gothic cruciform church with three-sided closed choir and west tower with four-sided needle spire. Wooden cross-rib vaults, rising from colonnettes with knob capitals against wall pilasters. Three-part windows with stained glass inspired by early Gothic. Built in 1892 by PJ van Genk.

The previous Roman Catholic Church of Nijkerk was from 1819 and was called 'the cathedral above the rivers'. This church suffered greatly during the Second World War under shelling. After the war it was decided to demolish the damaged church and build a new one. On 17 September 1953 the first stone was laid. In July 1954 construction workers placed the cross on the tower. On Sunday 5 December 1954 the Eucharist was celebrated for the first time.

Extraordinarily important neo-Gothic church with a unique double tower front, of two, in many small interesting details, different towers. Presumably this double tower front is also just the highest in the Netherlands, closely followed by five other church buildings (Delft, Kaatsheuvel, Tilburg, Gouda, The Hague).
