Onsøy Church

Onsøy Church

Ontmoeting

Diemen, NL

Built as a Reformed Church, named Bethlehem Church. Beautifully situated, diagonally to the left behind the local Roman Catholic Church St. Petrus' Banden. Interesting interbellum church, with roof turret, easily recognizable as a design by architect Boeyinga. In the mid-2000s, this church building became the central church of the Protestant Church Diemen. This building was also named "De Ontmoeting". Despite major modernizations of the interior, the characteristic, interesting architecture by architect Boeyinga has remained largely intact.

Ontmoetingskerk

Heerhugowaard, NL

Built as a Reformed Church. Three-aisled pseudo-basilica with tower from 1870. The exterior shows a very eclectic round arch style with remarkably shaped buttresses. The interior, however, is still quite pronounced neoclassical in character with its heavy columns and stucco barrel vault. Galleries have been installed in the side aisles. Little remains of the original interior. Organ from 1873 by P. Flaes, extended in 1986 by Scheuerman & Zoon (Rotterdam) with a free pedal.
