St. Martin's Cathedral is a Gothic cathedral, originally Romanesque, part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site "Levoča, Spiš Castle and Associated Cultural Monuments". The cathedral was first built as a Romanesque church in the years 1245-1273. In the 15th century, a Gothic choir was built. Although the new church with the main altar was consecrated as early as 1478, the vaults of the side aisles were not completed until 1497. The later Baroque alterations were reversed during a renovation in 1873-89. Since 1776, the church has been the seat of the Spiš diocese.

The hospital church (Spitalkirche), probably founded in the 12th century, was first mentioned in the 14th century as a hospital church. The building owes its current appearance to a reconstruction in the 18th century.

The church in Spjelkavik is a hexagonal church dating from 1987. In 2007 the new decoration of the church was completed. Since 2002 the artist Håkon Bleken has been working on a series of stained glass windows.

Spjærøy Church, formerly called Spjærøy Chapel, is a church completed in 1891. The architect was Jacob Wilhelm Nordan, while mason Peder Emanuelsen Utengen from Kirkøy was responsible for the construction. The chapel was built of granite cut into the rock to the south of the chapel. The building was completed in 1891. The building has been renovated several times, including in 1941, 1958 and 1989. Today it is a church.

The Synagogue in Split was created in the 16th-century bu converting the second floor of two attached medieval houses. The current interior was created around 1728. The Aron Hakodesh, one of the most sacred parts of the place of worship facing Jerusalem and made out black and white marble in the Classicist style, is built into the western wall of the Diocletian’s Palace. It is one of the oldest continuously used Sephardic synagogues in the world.

The Cathedral of Spoleto was built in the 11th and 12th centuries on the site of an older Romanesque church. The Romanesque façade and the bell tower were completed in 1207. The original Romanesque porch was replaced in the 15th century by a Renaissance porch, the interior was completely modified in the 17th century by Pope Urban VIII, former Bishop of Spoleto, and his nephew Francesco Barberini, who was also Bishop of Spoleto. The last modifications were finally made in the 18th century.

From May 21, 2009, this church is called "Sprengkerk". After a renovation, started in 2010, the church was repurposed as Multifunctional Center De Spreng, which opened on June 11, 2011. This church is listed as a Municipal Monument of the Netherlands.

Spydeberg Church is a long church dating from 1844. The original church on the site was a medieval stone church, probably built in the 12th or 13th century. This building was completely burnt down in 1841. After the fire, the builder Johan Fredrich Lühr was engaged to construct a new church. At that time, Lühr was involved in the work on the Oslo palace and worked closely with the architect Linstow.

The construction of the Sremski Karlovci Cathedral began in 1758 at the instigation of the Metropolitan of Karlovac Pavle Nenadović, on the site of an old church from the Ottoman period. In 1760, a tower and a dome were built according to the design of Zaharije Orfelin (1726-1785), and the church was completely completed in 1762. At the end of the 18th century, the cathedral was severely damaged by a fire, and it was rebuilt for the first time in 1805. In 1811, the cathedral was renovated with important changes, which gave the church neoclassical characteristics. A century later (in 1911) it was rebuilt and given a Renaissance façade instead of a Baroque one. The church retained its appearance after this renovation.
