Johanneskerk

Heerde, NL

Reformed church, consisting of the late Gothic tower, and the choir, probably from the first half of the 15th century. The tall tower has three sections, a square ground plan, and is crowned by an octagonal constricted spire from 1907. The base is made of brick, the rest is made of tuff stone. In 1869, the tower was provided with a detailing of arched niches and friezes in neo-Romanesque style. Around the spire is a neo-Gothic balustrade. On the third section is a mechanical tower clock by LWF Volcke in The Hague, from the last quarter of the 19th century.

The church of Burgwerd probably dates from the 13th century, and was originally built, it is assumed, in Romanesque Gothic style. In the years 1724-1726 the church was thoroughly renovated. The tower used to have a brick spire, and was given its current form in 1816. Large church building situated on a moated churchyard, Gothic in design, probably completely bricked up and provided with larger windows in the 17th century. Closed upright tower. Mechanical wrought iron tower clock, 17th century. Bell frame with clock by J. van Bremen, 1512, diam. 106.5 cm.

Hall church, built in 1860 to replace the medieval village church (St Vitus). Narrower, three-sided choir closure, divided by round-arched niches between lesenes with entablatures. Plastered tower with round-arched niches and constricted spire. The plastered interior has a barrel vault rising from a cove moulding. This church is listed as a National Monument of the Netherlands.

Historic village church with tower. Until 1581 this was the Roman Catholic Church of St. John the Baptist. Rebuilt in 1927.

Reformed Church. Simple church building with built-in tower, all from 1648. Internally simple pulpit and baptismal font, 17th century, two 18th century crowns, four 17th century text boards, clock face from 1790. Single manual organ made in 1890 by Bakker and Timmenga. Bell tower with clock by J. Crans, 1715, diam. 69 cm. Mechanical wrought iron tower clock.

Sittard, NL

Built as a Reformed Church. Modern church with tower. On January 1, 1998, the Reformed Church and the Reformed Church were federated. This also gave them two buildings: the old Dutch Reformed Church on Gruizenstraat and the much younger Reformed Johannes Church on Mgr. Vranckenstraat. The Johannes Church is the largest and is used weekly for church services. The much smaller Dutch Reformed Church is used for special services, for vespers, as a silence center, etc. In the summer of 2004, the Johannes Church was completely refurbished. Church on Cemetery. In the Herv. Church baptismal font foot with cymbal (XVII). Organ with main work and upper work, made in 1869 by L. van Dam and Sons. In 1925 extended with a free pedal by Bakker and Timmenga that was maintained during the last restoration in 1988. Bell tower with bell by F. Simon and A. Overtin, 1624, diam. 98.5 cm.
