The church in Vatne is a wooden church that was built in 1868. The church has a long plan and was designed by the architect Fritz Meinhardt. The church was moved to this location to provide a more central location and to make it easier for people to get to the church by boat.

The Vats church was built in 1855 according to the drawings of Hans von Linstow. The church, probably the third in Vats, is located in the middle of the village. The church, which was demolished shortly after the new building was ready, was built around 1640. The church that stood here before was probably a stave church.

The second church in the village, called Agia Varvara, is about 300m south of the Agios Georgios parish church. It was built in 1954-55. After 1974, the building fell into disrepair and the roof collapsed. Satellite images show that the building was repaired between 2009 and 2011. Today, the building appears to be used as a social club space.

The Vaxholm Church has a long history. During the 16th century, the village had only a small chapel to practice their religion. The following centuries, the building was replaced, removed, enlarged, demolished, and so on. The current building was constructed in 1760. It took a while to build and the church was inaugurated in 1803. Afterwards, the sacristy was added in 1896 and several renovations and additions followed.

Late neo-Gothic church with tower. Klazienaveen-Noord received a wooden auxiliary church in 1902 at the insistence of the evangelist Willem Braak-Hekke from Emmer-Compascuum. In 1923 this church was replaced by a stone church. The initiative came from the evangelist Willem de Weerd, who was financially supported by the Scholten family. De Weerd himself contributed to the financing by making the revenues of his book "De domeneer van turfland" available for the construction of the church. The first stone was laid in June 1922; the church was consecrated in 1923.
