The Varntresk church is a long church dating from 1986. Varntresk did not get its own cemetery until 1895, although there was a permanent settlement from 1736. This cemetery was consecrated in August 1895 at the request of the parish priest Ole Tobias Olsen.

The Vartdal church was built in 1876 and inaugurated one year later. The architects of the church, Wilhelm von Hanno and Heinrich Ernst Schirmer, were clearly inspired by the church in Ørsta (built in 1864). Due to storm damage, the church had to be reinforced in 1879.

The church in Varteig is a cross plan church consecrated in 1859. It is the third church in the city. In 1911, the church was given a west tower. A sacristy was built in the east in 1894, but it was replaced by a new extension in 1975.

Information on the cemetery’s establishment is unknown, but it was marked on maps of the 1880s and 1939. Presumably, the cemetery was operating in the second half of the 19th century. It can be supposed that it was demolished after WWII.

The cemetery is abandoned and some parts are overgrown. The territory is used for livestock grazing. There are 150 old and 50 new tombstones. This cemetery was also used by the Nisporeni Jewish community. It seems that a part of the cemetery located outside of the current fenced area has been demolished and transformed into a garden and a pigsty.

The exact period of the cemetery’s establishment is unknown. According to epigraphic data, it already existed in the first half of the 19th century. First, it was marked on a map of the 1880s. The cemetery is still operating.

The Agios Trifonas Cemetery Chapel is located approx. 600 m east of the village centre. The building itself is in a fair condition. However, the interior is completely empty and all doors and windows had been removed.

Agios Vasilios Church is located in the south-western area of the original settlement area and was built in 1910.After 1974, the church was converted into a mosque and was in use until a new mosque was built in the village. After that, the building was abandoned. The exact date of the new mosque construction is unknown but could have been in the early 2000s. On the day of the visit, the building was locked.

Väskinde Church is one of the 92 medieval churches on the island of Gotland.

Vassås church is an octagonal wooden church dating from 1733. Around 1900 it was built in such a bad condition that in 1913 it was dismantled and completely rebuilt.
