Barletta Cathedral was built between the 12th and 14th centuries on the site of an early-Christian church, which had been in existence since the 7th century at least. The church was consecrated as a cathedral by Pius IX in the Bull of 21 April 1860 and became a minor basilica in 1961.

The current church was founded in c. 1280. It has three portals, two of which are in Gothic style and one, the oldest, which is still in the Romanesque tradition. There are also Gothic windows with still extant stained glass from c. 1280 in the apse and the south façade, one of only a few instances of preserved medieval stained glass in Sweden in situ.

The current barn church was built in the mid-18th century to replace an old barn church dating back to 1647. The barn churches were built in Gilze by the predominantly Catholic population when the main church of St. Petrus Bandenkerk was made Protestant. It was not until 1818 that the Catholics of Gilze were able to return to the St. Petrus Bandenkerk.

Basel Cathedral was built between 1019 and 1500 in Romanesque and Gothic style. The cathedral obtains its recognizable red colour thanks to the red sandstone used for its construction. The old Catholic church became Protestant during the 16th century.

The Synagogue of Basel first opened in 1868 and was constructed by the architect Hermann Gauss. It is modelled after the synagogue in Stuttgart with neo-Byzantine, Moorish, and Romanesque stylings. In renovations, the synagogue has been enlarged, a second dome has been added, and the walls have been painted grey before being recently restored to colour.

The Basilic of the Holy Blood is a double chapel of the city of Bruges. The lower chapel of Sint-Basilius (1139-1149), is the only Romanesque church of West Flanders entirely preserved. The Upper Chapel of the Holy Blood was given in the late 15th century in a Gothic style.

The co-cathedral basilica of Saint Agatha was built in Romanesque style in the 12th century, but the present baroque church dates from a reconstruction from 1629 to 1696. The work was entrusted to the local builders Francesco Bischettimi and Scipione Lachibari, according to Giovan Bernandino Genuino's design for the whole building. Due to the large number of paintings, the interior can be considered a real gallery of paintings.
