Brauweiler Abbey is a former Benedictine abbey, founded in the 11th century by Poppo de Stavelot (977 - 1048) on the orders of the Count Palatine of Lotharingia Ezzo (955 - 1034). The monastery was dissolved during secularization in 1802. The monastery then had many uses as a labour and correctional institution, Gestapo prison and psychiatric clinic. It was not until 1988 that the former monastery became the present cultural and service centre of the LVR. Brauweiler Abbey is one of the largest Romanesque church buildings in the Rhineland.

The Bredtvet church was built in 1977 by the architect Carl Corwin, ten years after the establishment of the parish. Although very close to the church, the bell tower is separate and contains 12 bells.

Both architecturally and historically (hiding place for Jews in 1940-1945) an extremely important church. Built as a Reformed Church. Large and very important church building with a large tower, with an elegant spire, close to the Roman Catholic Church of the Holy Cross, which also has a tower. In terms of urban development, these two church towers form a beautiful and extremely important ensemble on either side of this busy intersection, in the otherwise fairly church tower-poor Rotterdam-South. From 1980 to (±) early 2010s, church services were held every 2 weeks, one Sunday in the Breepleinkerk and the other Sunday in the NH Vredeskerk in Vreewijk. Since January 2008, the Reformed Church of Rotterdam-South and the Reformed parish of Vreewijk-Hillesluis have been part of the Protestant parish of Rotterdam-South. Since (±) the beginning of 2010, the church services of this parish of the PKN have only taken place in the Vredeskerk, Lede 117. And since then, the Pentecostal and Evangelical Church "Het Levende Woord" has held its services in the Breepleinkerk on Sunday mornings.

The Bregu mosque was built by a local captain, Ahmet Gjyl, in 1783. Like the mosque, the minaret is reminiscent of 18th century Ottoman architecture. During the earthquake of 1979, it suffered extensive damage and it was not until 1986 that its restoration was completed.

The chapel of Breidenstein, built in 1592, is a half-timbered building on the upper floor, with a saddle roof and a turret on the east side. The building was completely restored in 1982.

The Breim Church is a long church from 1886. The building is made of wood and was designed by the architect Hakon Thorsen, who was clearly inspired by the Vik de Sogn church, built in 1877. At the door of the burial grove surrounding the church, two memorial stones have been erected for four men of the village who fell during the Second World War.

The church of Brekke is a long church from 1862, the third church of the village. In the Middle Ages there was a Stave church on the Haugland farm, which was first mentioned in 1327. In 1590, the church was moved to Ytre Brekke. It was the first church in the village that was named Brekke church. In 1686, mention is made of a half-timbered church that was probably located where the present church is.

Brekken church is a wooden church that was built in 1878. The church has a long plan and was designed by architect Jacob Wilhelm Nordan.

The church of Bremanger, is a long wooden church dating from 1914. The architect of the church was Anders Karlsen. The oldest historical traces of a church on this site date back to 1330.

St. Peter's Cathedral Bremen is a Romanesque church made of sandstone and brick, built from the 11th century and rebuilt in Gothic style from the 13th century. At the end of the 19th century, the interior of the church was completely renovated. The church belongs to Protestant-Lutheran worship.
